Citizen, citizenship and diversity

The definitions of these three quotes are:

Citizen: a legally recognized subject or national of a state or commonwealth, either native or naturalized for example a citizen is someone that legally lives in a country or an inhabitant of a city or a town.
Citizenship: the position or status of being a citizen of a particular country or the character of an individual viewed as a member of society; behavior in terms of the duties, obligations, and functions of a citizen
Diversity: This is the understanding and respecting that each and everyone is unique, for example loads of different people put in one specific area such as: different religions in once city makes the city diverse.

What does it take to become a UK citizen?

To apply for a British citizen you have to meet certain requirements which are: to be 18 or over because it needs to be an adult doing the job, you have to have a sound mind so that you are responsible and capable of doing your job, have a good character so that you are liked by the public, you have to continue living in England and meet the knowledge of English like in the Uk requirements so that you have some basic knowledge about the UK.

Benefits of a good citizen relating to the public services

To become a good citizen you should do things such as reporting vandals to help prevent any crime and disturbance in your area, helping people that need your help (old, disabled ect..), respect your environment meaning no vandalism and recycle ect.. You should also vote in an election to decide what happens in your area, support other by helping and donating to charities. You can many more things to become a good citizen however these are the most important.  

Being a good citizen can help the public services in many ways. If you report vandals the police services can sort this out before it leads to a serious crime, if you report any disturbance the police service would be able to take care of it before it leads into an argument or a fight. By helping people that need your help for example elderly you can prevent an accident happening which may cause a serious injury you would help the paramedics and save their time. You could even check your disabled neighbors fire alarm to see if it works that way you are helping the fire services. There are many more things you can do to help the public services by simply being a good citizen.

Local community

In a local community there are many diverse people, that's what makes the community so diverse, some example of diverse people would be the different age, this related to public services because different ages tend to be dealt with the public services such as elderly with the paramedics. You also get a gender diversity because different genders can be related to the public services. You also get different ethnic groups meaning there is racism going on in certain places which effect the police service because the police service need to make sure no crime happens. There are also people with different disabilities meaning the paramedics and ambulance services might be needed in various situationist. Lastly there are people with different sexuality preferences meaning homophobia might be a problem in the area therefore for police service might be involved to prevent any arguments and fights that might lead into a serious disagreements and turn into a crime.
The ethnicity is really diverse in Leicester even though more than half of the people are English.



Leicester has very similar religion stats compared to England as you can see down below.

In 2011 the population of Leicester consisted of 329,836 people and was made up of 51% females and 49% males which we could say half and half.
The avarage age of Leicester is 35 years old, however the median age is lower at 31 years of age.
 







Where as in England the ethnicity is different because over 83.50% are English meaning overall in most cities the English population is higher.
 

England is very diverse when it comes to religion therefore the percentages vary however more than a half of religions is still Christian.
The population for England for 2011 was over 53,012,456 people and the same as in Leicester it was made up of 51% females and 49% males which once again is approximately half and half.
  The average age of England is 39 years of age, similarly the median age is also 39 years of age.
